The people of Kingdom of Naples
Stefania PapaccioliOwner and initiator Kingdom of Naples
Although I’ve been living in Amsterdam since 2000, I am a true Neapolitan in heart and soul. The longer I am away from home, the stronger I feel my roots and appreciate the beauty, the culture and the authenticity that Naples offers. The loud people, the narrow streets, the smell of food, the beautiful islands, the traditional Sunday lunches. I started Kingdom of Naples because I would like as many people as possible to experience the same warm feeling I have every time I go back home. In the only way possible: just like the locals do.
Please meet a few of my many Neapolitan friends. Together with them I hope you will enjoy the experiences that I carefully picked out for you.
From the day you arrive, till the day you leave we will make sure your stay in our town is as pleasant as possible. We will welcome you at your accommodation, give you all the tips and suggestions you need to discover our city, bring you vouchers, maps and, of course, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We might come along sometimes during a city tour, or a dinner... Or surprise you with some extra's ;-) And make sure you will have somebody to count on while here! See you soon. Letizia and Zelinda
I grew up with a passion for archaeology, history and the natural beauties of my region. I would be happy to share all this with people who are interested and curious, scholars or anyone who may wish to enter into the spirit and know the history of my magical land. Let me guide you in an unusual way through the mysteries and beauties of Naples and its surroundings. And surprise you with unexpcted stops along the way. To make every tour unique. That is my mission!
Antonio - L'AriaOwner restaurant La Barrique
In my restaurant you can expect traditional Neapolitan dishes and appetizers served with a twist; every dish is prepared with care and passion, and of course with the best seasonal ingredients. Besides cooking, I am passionate about the art of food and wine matching. Being a sommelier myself, I can guarantee you that our wine suggestions are the best possible. I know that my English is not fluent, but my food and wines speak for themselves. Luckily my staff can help me when needed. Looking forward to meeting you.
Alessandra - L'AriaPersonal shopper
I just love shopping in Naples: it's the ideal place to shop. You can find anything you want at the best price, from the unique handmade shoes to the finest cheeses. Want to go shopping for clothes or bags? Or maybe you prefer to buy the best olive oil or pasta of Naples? Well, I am an expert in bargaining and getting the best deals, either in street markets or boutiques. Let me show you how we do it here. Just tell me your budget, likes and dislikes and off we go.
Lelia - Il FuocoPaintress / illustrator - Neapolitan high tea
I was born in Naples and moved to Amsterdam in 1996, where I had my own atelier. Last year I decided to move back to Naples, to the Vergini area. This part of Naples is not so much known for its elegance, but more for its liveliness, with market streets and shouting vendors everywhere. I am happy to walk you through my neighbourhood and take you to my home for ‘Paste e Caffe’: the Neapolitan version of the British high tea. From my terrace, while sipping a real espresso, you can enjoy a fantastic view of my beloved Napoli!
My bar is located in the browsing baretti (little bars) area of Naples, where Neapolitans go out at night. Relaxing music, nice cocktails and lots of locals hanging out, that’s ‘66’. Start your evening here with an aperitivo. I’ll be happy to offer you a cocktail, would you prefer a Spritz? Or a Negroni? Well, we have a large choice. As tradition wants for aperitivo, you can accompany your drink with complimentary appetizers.
A perfect way to start the evening.
Pietro - L'AriaOwner hotel de Charme
This hotel was once the house of my great-great-grandfather, the marquis Nicola Lecaldano Sasso La Terza. In 2001 we decided to restore it and tranform it into a hotel. In most of the rooms we have kept their original furniture and named them after our ancestors who lived in them. Every morning you can enjoy a typical Neapolitan breakfast. Our Alfonso, so called "O'Mast' do caffe`", prepares the best espresso and cappuccino you have ever tasted which you can enjoy together with handmade neapolitan pastries and croissants: welcome in!
Warmth, hospitality and kindness, words that come to mind after spending a holiday in Naples and meeting its inhabitants. Why restrict yourself to a restaurant or museum if you can experience and enjoy Naples and its surroundings like the locals do? They will show you the way, give you advice and are open to getting to know you. One acquaintance will lead you from one adventure to another. Choose one or more exchanges and give yourself and your company an unforgettable experience.
